The International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources is an important international agreement on conservation and use of the worlds’ plant diversity. Representatives from more than 60 countries have today met in FAO Headquarters in Rome to support the International Treaty and its Benefit-sharing Fund.
The Italian Agriculture Minister, Giancarlo Galan, opened the meeting with a call on Governments around the world to use the Treaty "to overcome the ancient and harmful clash between peasant agriculture and modernity". Read more>>
